I have YY-MM-DD in the index.
Index Format = STATUS MSGNO SHORTDATEISO TIME24 FROM(20%) ADDRESSTO(10%) SIZE SUBJECT(75%)
Produces:

You can change SHORTDATEISO with LONG... (I did not verify)
