To delete a line, use
<CTRL><k>
with the cursor anywhere on the line.

To undelete everything that you have deleted, since you started pressing
<CTRL><k>
in the current series of keystrokes, use
<CTRL><u>
to undelete.

That sequence can also be used to cut and paste a block of text, within
a message being composed.
