via NBC CH 2 Florida:

When Cpl. Tim Donley returned home from Afghanistan, he was missing
both his legs and had severely injured one of his arms. But he still
had his voice and a passion for singing, which got the attention of
Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters.

"[Roger] had put out a request for wounded warriors to perform on
stage with him," Donley, who eagerly accepted that request, said.

In 2013, Donley performed with Waters and dozens of other wounded
veterans at a New York City benefit concert. Among those on stage
were specialist Nate Kalwicki and corporal Juan Dominguez. Kalwicki,
Dominguez and Donley soon became friends and decided to continue
making music together.

The three men co-founded "The Resilient", a band made up mostly of
amputee veterans.
