via BBC News:

A 25-year-old woman who lost her leg to cancer has secured a college
place to fulfil her dream of becoming a nurse.

Chantelle Cox was born with a rare condition called neurofibromatosis
and in January, her right leg was amputated after cancer was
detected.

Since the operation, Chantelle, from Dundee, has coped through
support from her family and focusing on positives.

As a result, she was asked to sound the starting horn for the city's
Race for Life event on Sunday.
