I'm happy to report that Window-Eyes 6.1 works better than JAWS with
Powerpoint 2003 and 2007.

Norm,

I just asked a friend who uses Window-Eyes and JAWS both. He says with
Window-Eyes 6.1, PowerPoint does very well. Now that's good news.

Does anyone know whether or not the Windows Eyes screen reader is able to
read the slides in a PowerPoint presentation. I ask about every year or
so, and the last I had heard was that it still did not function in
PowerPoint.

I don't want to report that fact only to find out that it actually is not a
fact any longer.
