[Athen] Internet Explorer 8

Got this from our Blackboard people last week.

"Currently, Blackboard is not fully compatible with Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8. When trying to upload an attachment to an assignment with Internet Explorer 8, you will receive a javascript error prompting to "please enter a valid file" although the file is valid. In the meanwhile, we recommend that you do not upgrade to Internet Explorer 8 if you need to upload files to Blackboard. Please continue using Internet Explorer 6 or 7. "

Has anyone had any implementation problems with IE 8?  I'm hesitant to
install it because I dont' trust early releases of Microsoft products.
 I know that ZoomText App Reader would not work with iE8 in ZT version
9.14 but didnot see anything in the relaese notes that 9.18 will do
better.  The latest version of JAWS from the release notes sounds like
it should work fine.  Aside from the ribbon is there anything else bot
good about it.
