Karen
This is input from Sina, a blind computer programmer
Microsoft Visual Studio (versions 2002/2003/2005/2008) and eclipse (latest
version, or even several revs back) work great for jaws. With eclipse,
you'd want to use it's CDT obviously (c/c++ development
toolkit/runtime/whatever); otherwise, Eclipse is usually for java by
default, but it supports dozens upon dozens of languages. He is willing to
help the student getting started. Email me off the list is you need the
help

I am just wondering if anyone has used or tested the new ckeditor for
accessibility and ease of use? It looks as if it is a complete re-write of
fckeditor http://ckeditor.com/

Many thanks

Best wishes E.A.

I web accessibility team at IU and other members of the Sakai
accessibility workgroup are testing it. We will share the results. S
far it's a step up from fck, but not perfect. Thankx.

Dear Mr. Bailey,

I have a student who will be taking a beginning computer programming course
in the Spring 2010 who uses JAWS and would like to know if an Integrated
Development Environment (IDE) is accessible with JAWS.? The computer course
uses C++ for the programming language.? Do you have contacts or resources
that I may use to research how JAWS interacts with this type of software?

Thank you for any help that you can give me.

Karen

Hi all!

The deadline for submitting a proposal for the California Transcribers and
Educators of the Blind and Visually Impaired (CTEBVI) conference is rapidly
approaching. The conference is in Southern California this year and is
always a great opportunity to learn more about what is happening in the
field of education for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. The
CTEBVI conference is the largest of its kind in the country, and I always
learn a great deal when I attend.

Imagine the Next 50 Years
Celebrate CTEBVI's 51st Year!
April 21-25, 2010
LAX Marriott

Following on the heels of 2009's Jubilee conference acknowledging our first
50 years, 2010's conference will ask you to Imagine the next 50.

Share your knowledge and expertise with others . be a workshop presenter at
CTEBVI. The workshop committee is now accepting workshop proposals for 2010.
You can find a long list of topics to cover on our website, but this list is
never complete. Your ideas and willingness to present them are always
highly encouraged.

Proposals for workshops must be received by November 15, 2009.
You can download the proposal submission form by visiting the CTEBVI
