There was a discussion at the end of Alice Anderson's session at AHG about providing lecture notes prior to lectures affecting attendance. The UK HEA academy has a Word doc download that hints at the fact that it does not change attendance http://www.ics.heacademy.ac.uk/italics/vol5iss2/burd-att-italics-06-final.doc

Skill (UK student with disabilities support agency) has instructions about copyright issues http://www.skill.org.uk/page.aspx?c=181&p=292

This slide share PowerPoint also mentions no change in attendance by 94% of students as a result of online support linked to lectures http://www.slideshare.net/ashleyhwright/durham-bb-conf-2009-no-notes-presentation

Synote is the freely available system that has been developed to support the capture of notes and recordings. http://blog.lsl.ecs.soton.ac.uk/synote/

Best wishes E.A.
