[Athen] Daisy Player that can take a beating

For a workhorse DAISY player, I still really like the Victor Classic Plus.
We have about 50 of them that we passed out to colleges in our state a few
years ago, and I have only had problems with one. Somehow the power jack on
the Classic broke, so we could not recharge the battery any more.

And as Robert said, for small and portable, I love the Stream.

As far as sturdy, I don't think you can do better than the Stream. However,
it isn't one you can secure very easily. The classic may still be your best
bet for a library environment since it can be cabled down.

Hello,

I am looking to purchase a Daisy hardware player that could survive as a
loaner in a library setting. We have a Victor Classic plus and a few Telex
Scholars and they are finally nearing the end of their days.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a "work horse" daisy player? Or would
the Classic plus still be the one to buy? We use the Victor Wave and Stream
for direct student loaning, but are looking for something a bit more sturdy
for this purpose.

Thanks,
