[Athen] Dragon with Windows 7

Hi All,

If you are using Dragon version 11, no matter what operating system, there will be a distinctive delay between speaking the words and the words appearing. This is because Dragon is taking the extra time to process the audio for increased accuracy. This was a new feature / improvement from version 10. Unfortunately, you will have to adapt your dictation style to accommodate. I suggest you just keep dictating and go back and do corrections after you finish your entire thought or paragraph. Hope this helps! :)

I appreciate the information.
Shame on me I have Dragon for several years but really don't use personally. Maybe I did my wrist wouldn't be so sore.
I'm going to try Dragon dictate window and see if I get better results. I did as you suggested and the bar to the far right there still an 8 second delay before the text appears in my document and/or e-mail. This is a plexer for for me since in the past text would appear with minimal downtime between dictated speech characters in the document. The accuracy is very good just because time is so important when writing the slowness. is frustrating.

Please send me the online resources with the FAQs and I will search it out thanks again, Nettie

Any time! Let me know if you need more assistance. You might also consider backing up your voice files, uninstalling & reinstalling DNS. Run an optimizer on your HD to defrag. Also helps with speed! Have you tried using the DNS dictate window vs. any other program? That will tell you if there's a prob. with your OS or a conflict with computer vs. program issues. As a last resort, there are some online resources with FAQs with dragon pros I can send you to.

Blessings,

Wink

Thank you for taking the time to address my plexer situation.

I have 4 Gig of RAM so I don't think that is the problem, I went through and cleaned out the harddrive which helped but still wouldn't recognize my words so when I attempted to compose the commands, it kept asking me to repeat the words so, I went through a new voice training session and will check tomorrow to see if that was the culprit. With all the issues, I am sure my profile was corrupt.

Appreciate your time,
Nettie
