      JOIN US FOR BRAILLE BOOT CAMP! 


Braille Boot Camp, taught by Gaeir Dietrich of the High Tech Training Center
of the California Community College system, is a three full day intensive
training designed to teach participants to read and write Grade One Braille
(uncontracted or the Braille Alphabet), and Grade Two (contracted) Braille
with a cheat sheet. Our goal is to promote Braille literacy, provide initial
training to those involved in accessible media and to inspire further study
of the Braille code. Please consider Braille Boot Camp if you are a parent
or family member of a child with a visual impairment. 
           After three days participants will be able to do the following: 
                                
                             Read and Write the Braille Alphabet 
                 Understand the pattern and formation of the Braille code 
                                Recognize Grade Two Braille Signs 
                                Use a Grade Two Braille cheat sheet 
                                Decipher Short Two Braille passage 
NEW! 
One Day Option: Attend one day only, Tuesday, August 16th, for an
introduction to Braille where you will learn to read and write the Braille
Alphabet, or Grade One Braille. No prior knowledge of Braille is necessary!
