White House Champions of Change: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
(STEM) for People with Disabilities

The White House Champions of Change program highlights the stories and
examples of citizens across the country that represent President Obama's
vision of out-innovating, out-educating, and out-building the rest of the
world through projects and initiatives that move their communities forward.
Each week, the Office of Public Engagement (OPE) hosts an event to honor
those who are "Winning the Future" and further empower and inspire other
members of their respective communities. Agency representatives and White
House Policy Offices participate in the events and host discussions on
amplifying best practices learned in each area.

This May, the Departments of Education and Labor along with the White House
Office of Public Engagement will host a Champions of Change to highlight
individuals, organizations, schools, or companies that are making a
positive impact in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) for
people with disabilities in the areas of employment and education.

For example, a Champion's work may entail:

Hiring people with disabilities in STEM fields
Making STEM materials accessible for people with disabilities
Advancing educational opportunities for people with disabilities in STEM
Promoting STEM opportunities for people with disabilities
Developing programs or initiatives that change attitudes about STEM for
people with disabilities
Inventing STEM products for people with disabilities

Please submit nominations by midnight on April 7 by utilizing this form.
Please note that multiple submissions do not increase likelihood of being
selected.
