Hi All,
Happy Friday (and sorry for the cross posting)…
Are any of you using (or do your libraries have) face-up scanners or
stand-alone scanners? I have a Canon-DR 9080C for alternate format
production, but am looking for alternatives to traditional flat-bed
scanning for Library books, print reserves, etc. (those times when it’s not
practical to take the binding off the book). It’s not practical or
efficient to use a traditional flat-bed scanner (not to mention the quality
of flat-bed scanning – flipping the book around, bending the spine, the
curvature near the binding, etc).
Wondering if face-up scanners or stand-alone scanners would meet this need,
if the speed and quality of the scan is acceptable?
Any help or guidance you may have would be appreciated! Makes/models and
prices would also be welcomed!
Thanks!
