[Athen] ATHEN Elections 2013

Hello ATHEN members:

We are closing in quickly on our annual meeting at the Accessing Higher
Ground Conference. It's time to pay attention to our organization business.

This year we will be electing a Vice President and Treasurer as part of our
normal cycle.

Also, we will be holding a special election for the President position.
This will be for a one year term, with an election for the position to be
held at it's usual time next fall.

Currently the existing Vice President and Treasurer have confirmed that
they are willing to stand for their same positions. We also have one person
who has agreed to stand for the President position.

Here are the current nominees:

President: Sean Keegan (Stanford)
Vice President: Teresa Haven (Arizona State)
Treasurer: Heidi Scher  (University of Arkansas)

Also, we will have a *vote on the business plan* as proposed in prior email.

Nominations for these positions are encouraged. Please send nominations for
VP, Treasurer and/or President to me (danc at uw.edu) *and* Joe Humbert (
joehumber at iu.edu). Deadline for submitting nominations is the end of this
week, Friday October 4, by 3pm PST.

The elections will be held online, current ATHEN membership as described by
the bylaws is necessary to be eligible to vote.
