Hi Ken,

University of Illinois has been using ProctorU for the past years (I guess at least for the past 4-5 years).
While I was with the University of Illinois Marc Thompson and I collaborated with ProctorU and were able to improve the accessibility of their web application. Their application is technically accessible but it had some usability issues last time I looked into it.
The company is well aware about the accessibility and very good with accommodating users with disabilities. While we were working with them, we made sure that they don't lock certain features of OS that assistive technology users depend on and I hope it is still the case.

They have a new web developer who is not very familiar with accessibility and accessible design but he is learning more about it.
I briefly talked with them at Educause and they welcome any accessibility/usability feedback. If you end up with their product, I will be glad to connect you to them.

Thanks,
Hadi

Subject: [Athen] remote proctoring software accessibility

OSU is doing some very preliminary research into remote proctoring software. We would appreciate any feedback you could give on the accessibility of such systems. In particular, we are poking around at:

* ProctorU (www.proctoru.com<http://www.proctoru.com>)
* Examity (www.examity.com<http://www.examity.com>)
* Kryterion (www.kryteriononline.com<http://www.kryteriononline.com>)
* Software Secure (www.softwaresecure.com<http://www.softwaresecure.com>)
* Bvirtual (www.bvirtualinc.com<http://www.bvirtualinc.com>)
* Voice Proctor (www.voiceproctor.com<http://www.voiceproctor.com>)

If you have had experience with these (or others), good or bad, your assessment would be very helpful.

Thanks!
ken
