The Office of Disability Services at Rutgers New Brunswick is currently looking for a full time Coordinator and Administrator for accessible course materials and assistive technology. Coordinator (listed as Learning Specialist):

* Responsible for insuring the delivery of reasonable accommodations to all eligible students at the New Brunswick campus at Rutgers in accordance with all applicable laws.

* Responsible for planning, organizing, and providing reasonable accommodations that include academic adjustments, auxiliary aids, and services to students with physical, psychological, learning, health-related, and neurological disabilities (e.g., mobility impairments, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, learning disorders, hearing impairments, visual impairments, traumatic brain injuries, and epilepsy).

* Conducts intake interviews with students; keeps accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date notes/records related to students; reviews documentation and evaluative reports; prepares letters of accommodation; evaluates eligibility for services; conducts follow-up meetings with students; organizes reasonable accommodations, services and auxiliary aids for students; and makes referrals to appropriate community and University services or agencies.

* Consults with faculty and staff regarding the implementation of reasonable accommodations and services. Develops and presents disability awareness programs for the University community. Collaborates with other offices and outside agencies.

Administrator for Accessible Course Materials/Assistive Technology (listed as SR. Program Coordinator):

* Evaluates students' needs related to technological obstacles and provides interventions to solve access barriers with courses.

* Converts textbook and course materials into accessible formats which includes ongoing communication with instructors, bookstores, and private vendors.

* Provides guidelines to faculty and staff for formatting documents and information; and develops individual and group training programs and documentation for user training on adaptive, assistive, learning technologies and customized hardware or software.

* Provides leadership, technical direction and support to the campus community in the area of adaptive technology for students with disabilities.

* Surveys students' technological needs; researches and purchases technology;

* Participates in strategic planning of the Learning Technologies Center.
