Hi Susan – what I have done is open the xml file and copy/paste into Word and use the find/replace option to remove all tags. Im not sure if that is what you are looking for and I know it requires some extra work.

To be clear, this is Shakespeare. So formatting is kind of important. And yes, the student knows already that listening to an electronic voice doing Shakespeare is going to be…off. But he’s still trying to figure things out, and wants to try everything. Who am I to argue? At least it is summer and we all have some time to putter around with things. The student has been great to work with, and those are the kind I like to go the extra mile for.

And Alexa, you don’t want me off my coffee! LOL

LOL – that’s why I said I wasn’t sure I was following her. Depending on how simple the content is, it might work, but then again, a better workflow for current systems would be appreciated by a lot of us. :)

Take Susan off her coffee.

LOL!

Plus, copying and pasting from browser means formatting is lost. Ron, please share your how to the whole list, if you're willing?

Hi, Susan. Not sure if I am following you correctly, but have you tried opening the xml file in a web browser, then copying/pasting the displayed text into Word?

I know there has to be a way to do this…regular save-as doesn’t work, if I can even get the file to open up right. Need to convert several xml files to plain old word (i.e., no markup showing). Help?
