Yes, I have seen this. We upgraded to ZT 10 and that seems to have helped greatly. At least the students who brought it to my attention haven't said anything else about it.

A student is using ZText and MMLab for an online
exam. On one equation ZText distorted some of
the information: example - “+ 2”, it added some
strange character before the 2 as you enlarge it.
I tried it several times. No matter what, ZText should not be
doing that.
Anybody ever encounter distortion like that
with ZText and MMLab? (The equation looks normal w/out
any magnification.)

I switched to the Windows Magnifier. That worked fine
with that equation.
