Hi Nisha,

We have an opening for an alt media specialist, which here at Columbia.  It's a really great position, pays pretty well (starts at $50k), but the real bonus is that the cost of living here is much lower than Sacramento, and the traffic is...well...there is no traffic.

Would you be willing to put a little blurb on the DSPS Region II listserve?

Here it is:
Alternate Media Access Specialist*-DSPS/Student Services, Columbia College
$4,083 to $5,216 per month
Full-time, benefits, classified position
Duties include processing alternative media, as well as assisting students with instruction and use of alternative technology. Also direct part-time staff and student assistants in their duties. AA or AS degree preferred, but 1-4 years of direct service in alt media or adaptive technology ok.  Strong background in alt media and adaptive tech reqired.
Position is posted, closes Feb 19th.
Note:  Columbia College is a beautiful, small rural community college. The DSPS program is growing, and there is a high potential to grow professionally within the college and the Yosemite district.  The cost of living is very low in Sonora and Columbia, and the quality of life is outstanding. We are located only an hour from Yosemite National Park, Bear Valley and Dodge Ridge ski areas, with numerous recreational activities here in Tuolumne County.  The staff and faculty of Columbia are like a family, and the community is very welcoming. 3 bed/2 bath homes available with acreage in the $200-300k range.
