[Athen] MS Word and Voice Over

For sure it's far from ideal, but at least Word documents can now be read by VoiceOver on the Mac with Word 2016, which wasn't the case with earlier versions of Word for Mac.

Thanks,

Russell

Note that while Word on the Mac in the latest version works on a technical level, the experience is far from ideal given the interaction model forced on users by Voice Over.

Hi Samantha,

What version of Word are you using? VoiceOver works with Word 2016 for the Mac, but not with earlier versions.

I'm not sure about encrypted files.

Thanks,

Russell

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday I was looking at *MS Word *with* Voice Over.* Our Native Screen Reader user informed me that she has always had to copy/ paste to TextEdit app with no formatting for Voice Over to read Word docs with a MAC OSX.

I thought the solution would be putting these MS Word docs in our D2L Reading Frame, but Voice Over does not read this, it says Image only in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.

*Voice Over read the MS Word doc if Copy/ Paste in to D2L Html file only. *

*Another unrelated issue is some MS Word docs that are not licensed with proper copyright are encryped and do not read at all with Jaws or Voice Over. *

Any feedback would be appreciated if you have experience with MS Word and Voice Over.

Thank you in advance.
