[Athen] Assistive Technology for Excel Spreadsheets

Hi Kitara,

I'm not sure what you mean when you say that "the screen reader
addresses each cell of the spreadsheet"? Jaws works quite well with
Excel, but the student will need to learn some of the keystrokes for
navigating around a spreadsheet. The keystrokes can be found by opening
Excel, and while in Excel, pressing Insert+ F1 twice quickly. So, hold
down the insert key and quickly press F1 twice. The focus will be on
"Topic, Excel". Press enter on this and then F6 to jump to the actual
help topic.

One keystroke for quickly jumping to a specific cell in a spreadsheet
is CTRL + G, followed by the cell reference you wish to go to, and then
pressing enter. So, to jump to cell D11, type CTRL + G. Then type D11
and press enter and the focus moves to that cell.

Hope this helps.

Good Morning,

Have students that are running into issues with spreadsheets in
classes. The students are blind and use JAWS, but when working with
spreadsheets, they*re finding it very time consuming because the
readers addresses each cell of the spreadsheet. Does anyone know of
anything to help in these instances?
