[Athen] play formatting for the blind

Perhaps share accessible Google Docs (see https://support.google.com/docs/answer/6199477?hl=en) or accessible Word documents (see http://webaim.org/techniques/word/ or https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Make-your-Word-documents-accessible-d9bf3683-87ac-47ea-b91a-78dcacb3c66d). Shouldn't those be accessible to people using a variety of assistive technologies both to produce and to read?

Best,
Vanessa

Thank you Gaeir! I am a little familiar with the BANA transcription.

This case is a little different, my question is more directed to how a student would prepare a document/review others' documents with a screen reader. This particular student doesn't use braille too often and only uses Voice Over on the Mac. I know VO will read punctuation but I would imagine setting up a document might be more difficult with only VO.

The BANA Website has resources for questions like these.

http://www.brailleauthority.org/formats/formats2016.html

I have attached the chapter on plays from the formatting guidelines.

If you have not looked at the formatting guidelines before, it helps to understand a few terms. When they talk about a "cell-5 heading," it refers to a heading that begins in the fifth cell (in other words, has four blank spaces before it) and has a blank line before it. (You can find headings in Chapter 4.)

A 1-3 margin means that the first line begins in cell one (no indent) and each succeeding lines begins in cell 3 (two blank spaces), like a "hanging ident" in print.

Hope this helps!
