Did they mean centimeters, maybe? That's approximately 8 ½ x 13 inches if they were talking about centimeters.

How the heck would the student even manage that size paper, dragging it around to class, etc.? I would offer re-sizable electronic text and talk to the person about potential technology that can be used to enlarge on the fly.

I just got a request for "large print" versions of textbooks on 22” X 34” paper. I have never heard of that. The most we can do in house is 11"x17". Is anyone making print that large? If so, how do you do it? Is that a "reasonable" request?
