Hi Terri et al ATHENites,

 

Answering as a foreign language instructor, I would say this type of
accommodation alters the learning outcomes of the class. As a DSS manager
(former) I would recommend extended test time and a quiet testing room to
help with anxiety reduction.

Hello!   Has anyone ever given an accommodation like this:  -translation
dictionary (paper only and the version must be approved by instructor)-

 

For a student who has a disability and a language impairment.  Language
impairments aren't considered a disability, but since this student also has
a disability, would you give an accommodation like this?  It is just for
translation assistance to reduce his anxiety during an exam, no definitions
and approved by the instructor?    Let me know what you think.  Thanks.
