Hello Robert,

Yes, Apple Books are EPUB, and the app supports sideloading. Google
Playbooks, Kobo, VitalSource, RedShelf, and many more support EPUB.

Based on this testing a summary review of recommended Apps can be found on
the InclusivePublishing.org website at:

Also, Edge now natively supports reading of EPUB, and they plan to fix some
of the bugs we reported.
