Hi Bryon et al ATHEN-ites

It would not be terribly expensive to purchase a pack of GPS locator tags and attach to the furniture which you could then track via Wi-Fi with cell phone or computer app. Some have a greater range than others.

Just a thought.

It's tough. When I started working, I attempted to add all of our tables to our DS management database as equipment. When a student needs one, I ask our student workers to move it to the classroom where it is needed. I then check it out to the student and make notes in the DS database. We have not lost a table since I started, so this is working. That being said, it's probably just one table per semester that we are loaning out. Additionally, you'll want to put a label or some sort of indicator on the table itself.

That being said, there could be some tables around campus still that I am not aware of!

Hi All,

Each semester, I try to provide accessible desks in classrooms, as requested. I tend to lose something each semester. If you provide an accommodation of accessible desks for a student in a wheelchair or other disability related concern, how do you maintain your inventory? It seems like my accessible items "disappear" on occasion. How do you maintain your inventory?

Thanks.
