David, it is not necessary to pussy-foot around publisher concerns. We are not breaking copyright or violating the DMCA. We have the legal right to adapt ANY material for use in creating accessible files for a student with a disability.

Be very careful with what you are asking. Even if your intentions are noble, your actions may violate the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act). Better to ask the publisher for chaptered, secured PDFs.
