Tacoma Community College (TCC) is pleased to invite applications for Assistive Technology and Alternative Format Coordinator.
The Assistive Technology and Alternative Format Coordinator position serves as the primary accessibility technology expert for the campus with responsibility for promoting technology solutions based on principles of universal design for instruction that support equal opportunities to learn. The position provides instruction technical assistance, training, and resource materials to students registered with the Access Services department as well as faculty and staff of the institution within the areas of assistive and instructional computer technologies. The position will have an emphasis on assistive technologies for students with learning disabilities, visual disabilities, physical disabilities, or those who are deaf or hard of hearing. The position is responsible for the support, technical direction, assessment, and implementation of new and existing technologies.
Tacoma Community College is a comprehensive state-supported community college serving more than 720,000 residents of the Tacoma-Pierce County area. The College's service district includes all of Tacoma and the Pierce County portion of the Olympic Peninsula and serves the Tacoma and Peninsula school districts. TCC is one of 34 community and technical colleges in a statewide system. The College has an annual operating budget of $40 million. Located on a 150-acre site in west Tacoma, the TCC campus houses 28 buildings (.5 million sq. ft. of covered area) including a health science center, computer center, learning resource center, art gallery, gymnasium, student center, and Early Learning Center.
