You might be familiar with the FX series of apps for math and science expression from Efofex.com<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fefofex.com%2F&data=02%7C01%7C%7Ced6a59c51f654e86be4808d852b4b03a%7C23c46d06c5e342e3b848763ebb02e6ad%7C0%7C0%7C637350283301718274&sdata=VZg2JG4kvDXBMyLV7xvTmaWBmn5M9t6Zc9%2F2ZmKDUoE%3D&reserved=0> — FX Equation, FX Draw, etc. They also offer FX Stat for creating statistical graphs and charts:
https://efofex.com/fxstat.php<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fefofex.com%2Ffxstat.php&data=02%7C01%7C%7Ced6a59c51f654e86be4808d852b4b03a%7C23c46d06c5e342e3b848763ebb02e6ad%7C0%7C0%7C637350283301718274&sdata=iSrVPTm4ZKfU%2Bls8tU%2B%2FVFtzpuqGeBd9Ta20vAHgo8k%3D&reserved=0>

Their FX Draw product also includes FX Graph, FX Stat, and FX Equation, all of which integrate well with Microsoft Word. I think this combination of four apps might fit your student’s needs. Also, students with qualifying disabilities can obtain free licenses to FX software through the EmPower Foundation if the request is made by the school:
https://efofex.com/empower.php<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fefofex.com%2Fempower.php&data=02%7C01%7C%7Ced6a59c51f654e86be4808d852b4b03a%7C23c46d06c5e342e3b848763ebb02e6ad%7C0%7C0%7C637350283301728265&sdata=q4n9%2B77WYlFZUgeUhWnPVlfYRUv1NNNC%2FRDO1lUQbYY%3D&reserved=0>

Hope this helps,
- Shelley

Maybe just use Desmos calculator? Even without creating an account student can share a link to a graph that has been created from data or from a formula.

There is also the audio output from the graphs which has helped some of my students get more multimodal understanding of the data.

From what I’m seeing so far, he is being asked to create from data or to calculate slopes of existing graphs. I haven’t seen a situation where he needs to graph from a conceptual point of view. I haven’t seen samples of everything yet though.

Most of the visual graphics in econ are line graphs. Is the student being asked to produce conceptual examples or to graph from data?

Hello all,

Does anybody have a good recommendation for software that can be used to draw diagrams for an econ class? I have a student with physical issues that make drawing difficult to impossible. He can use a computer keyboard okay, but trying to draw is not an option.

Thanks for any ideas.
