Hi all with the screen reader + Grammarly question...

This came up on an NVDA FAQ site recently and NVDA's response was to take a look at this grammar checker which IS a screen reader friendly model. Since NVDA and JAWS are similar in how one accesses elements on the screen, you might want to check this one out and see if it meets your needs. It's called ProWritingAid.

I am a Grammarly user, but it irks me every time I use it. It is not keyboard only usable as well. Lisa got a nicer response than I did about addressing accessibility. The response I received was that it is not in our plans to add the ability to use a keyboard only. I guess I cannot expect a company that does not take the time to work with the Mac version of Outlook to spend time making their product more usable/accessible.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a competitor that is willing to consider accessibility? Mainly, I use it for email and inner office correspondence. I want a solution that will work across devices as I switch between Mac, Windows, iPad, and Android throughout each day. This would also make me more comfortable to consider it for others.

Thanks,

We met with Grammarly a couple of months ago for a demo. When we informed them that the product does not meet our requirements for accessibility, the answer was just "thanks for letting me know" and an offer of a discount for students who want to purchase an individual license. No "we're working on it" or "I'll take that back to my team." So I don't think anything has changed.

sadly the grammarly people have known about this from the start and i don't think they ever spent any time fixing it. i would love it if it world but hay maybe they think one disability keeps you from having others.

Hi everyone,

Our library is offering free access to Grammarly Premium to all current students, faculty, and staff.

We have an instructor who is blind who says he is not able to successfully use Grammarly with his screen reader, Jaws.

Do any of you know of a way to get Grammarly to work with Jaws, or any other screen reader?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Best,

Russell
