Hi All,

Forwarding this position listing for a colleague. This is not directly related to higher education, rather a help-desk position for the state's Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired. Many of the individuals this position has supported in the past are blind/low vision students enrolled in higher ed institutions throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. More details below:

The Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI) provides services and resources which enable Virginians who are blind, vision impaired or deafblind to achieve their desired levels of employment, education, and personal independence.

DBVI is looking for someone to assist in the setup, assessment, and repair of DBVI customer computer systems involving software and hardware issues; provide helpdesk information regarding problems with assistive technology and computer systems to customers of DBVI; provide technical support in assistive technology to DBVI staff; assist in the research and implementation of new technologies; maintain computer functionality in the engineering lab and to maintain out of scope computer systems utilized by Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Vision Impaired (VRCBVI) students and staff on campus, including hardware and software installations, assistive technology compatibility resolution, and out of scope network maintenance both on the VRCBVI campus and at client internship sites.
