Thanks Catherine. We're going to be on campus tomorrow morning for a bit, so we plan to check for our copy of TextAloud. Thanks too for the comparison between TextAloud and Balabolka.

Take care,

Russell

Hi Russell,
If you have had a TextAloud license in the past, you can probably get access to your license still. Email support at nextup.com<mailto:support at nextup.com> and they can send you your registration code. I recovered mine after a couple of years.

I still find TextAloud to be the best for recording MP3 since you can vary the pause for punctuation etc. Balabolka is okay, but you will not get the flexibility and the batch conveniences offered by TextAloud.

Best regards,
Cath

Hi Erika,

We do use Read and Write, but isn't there a limit to the number of pages that you can convert to MP3 at one time?

Someone else mentioned Balabolka, so maybe we'll check that out too.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Take care,

Russell

Hello Russell,

My offices uses Read & Write by TextHelp which has an MP3 conversion feature, but I don't think there is a free version of this program. The last time I used Natural Reader it didn't offer MP3 conversion, but that was 5-6 years ago so that may have changed. In the past, I've used Balabolka as a free option for MP3 conversion and it worked well. http://www.cross-plus-a.com/balabolka.htm

Hope this information is helpful.

Best,
Erika
