[Athen] Creating MP3s?

Hello,
My pics have both been mentioned, but let me add some reasons why I use
these for conversion to MP3...

CAR
I get great results converting to MP3 with the free Central Access Reader,
which can be found at Central Washington University. It is also my go-to
for converting MS Word with MathType or EquationEditor equations to MP3 or
screen reader accessible HTML with MathML. Can't say enough about how our
students have benefitted from the HTML that is easy to access by default
screen reader/browser combinations using the screen reader commands used
for surfing the web. No plug-ins or special software required. I'm a big
fan of CAR and the Central Access Toolbar is also very helpful and also
very free.

I pray these tools aren't allowed to atrophy and become obsolete! They are
still compatable with the latest Window OS, but require 64bit OS. But I
worry, since they haven't been updated in the last few years, and they are
such valuable parts of our workflow for accessible STEM!

BALABOLKA
I'm also a big fan of Balabolka, for it's variety of language support, and
how many features and options it has. Tons of control over pauses,
pronunciation, splitting large files into multiple mp3s... and too much to
mention. Yet can easily be used by novices. Only drawback is that it lacks
MATH support.

Hope that helps.
