[Athen] Question About Scanning Book

Hello,

I have a book which, when scanned, the quality is not that great. My
student worker tells me that the text is gray instead of black. I imagine
that this could result in lower-quality scanning, since gray is a
lighter color. I believe by default the scanner is set to scan at 300
DPI. Would increasing this improve the quality of the scan at all? What
other suggestions would you have for improving the quality?

Thanks,
Robert
