[Athen] [EXTERNAL] - Computer mice for tremors

Saw one called SteadyMouse just now when searching. The vendor site doesn't show a video of it in use but found one on YouTube.

Haven't used it myself but maybe something like that would help.

I thought that the expensive Penny and Giles trackball had a keyguard type cover that let one avoid repeated right/left button clicks. On trying to find that online the infogrip page was kicking up bad ssl cert messages but maybe another similar device is out there.

Hi Doug,

Thank you for your question.
All digits are affected, but we can definitely trial a trackball mouse.
Thank you for the idea!

Sincerely,
Robin

Robin,

Does the tremor impact just the forefinger when using a standard mouse?

If so, might something like the Kensington Expert Mouse trackball allow for tapping instead with the thumb? I don't have such a tremor but prefer this trackball and use if for both my work and personal computer.

Hi ATHEN!

I am working with a student who is R-hand dominant and would like to continue using R-hand to interact with the computer. It is a Windows 11. The R-hand has recently developed an intention tremor.
Filter keys can assist to prevent accidental double-tapping of keys on the keyboard, but I am not sure what free options exist to prevent accidental double-tapping of a mouse.

I see based on a Google search that some mice have been developed that have filters for tremor-induced actions, such as shaking the mouse or clicking more than intended.
Has anyone had experience with these mice or other options?

Thanks!
Robin
