[Athen] [WebAIM] Removing the PDF/UA Identifier in Acrobat Pro DC

The PDF/UA identifier doesn’t make the document accessible – it simply declares that it is. You are only supposed to set the PDF/UA identifier if the document is PDF/UA conformant. Karen’s document wasn’t conformant, but someone had set the identifier when they should not have done.

Hello, unsure of what PDF/UA is, I looked it up and see that it's PDF/Universal Access. The article I read then goes on to talk about the importance of tagging documents and such. It sounds like the PDF/UA attribute is a good thing. Why would someone want to remove it?

Thanks,
Robert

Thanks everyone!

That worked! I seldom go into those property areas and forget they exist.

I had to do this a couple of times a year or so ago. I went into Acrobat Pro, Properties, Additional Metadata and then I deleted the PDF/UA entry and saved it and it gets rid of the PDF/UA identifier. That is the only way I could do it.

Cheers
