On enabled videos, selecting the gear icon and choosing the "descriptive" audio track plays the audio track designated as descriptive audio - a format that is intended to give audio context for essential visual information. The purpose of the pilot is to better understand the unique needs of our users and how to create features to help reach broader audiences." This is making me very angry as I know the feature has been out for over 3 and maybe 4 years now as I first saw it in 2018 or 2019 on a video game trailer. Since then I have seen it on a few other video game trailers but never on any other youtube channels. If we in education can't get access to the features we need to help our students and extended communities, how can more people learn about accessibility and how to do it right Here is my call to action. your campuses should also join me in asking google to get your team's access to the feature now so that we can learn how to use it and teach about how to always make videos more accessible to everyone lucy Berkeley IT Lucy Greco, Web Accessibility Evangelist Campus IT Experience Phone: (510) 289-6008 | Email: lgreco@berkeley.edu | https://webaccess.berkeley.edu Follow me on twitter @accessaces We champion diversity. In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Hi all, Metroplex Voice Computing closed down several years ago. There may be resellers that still have some copies of MathTalk & Scientific Notebook available. The last update before closing down worked with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 15.0 individual professional. *IF* you can find a copy of MT & SN, keep in mind that there won?t be any support or any updates forthcoming. IT on your campus may not support after market software without licensing and support (that?s my long disclaimer!). If you can find a copy, talk to IT on your campus. Alternatively, install DNS 15.0 Individual professional with MathTalk & Scientific Notebook on a laptop and check it out to a student directly (instead of installing on the college server & using in on the college network). So, assuming you can find a copy of the MathTalk & Scientific Notebook from a reseller and already have Dragon NaturallySpeaking 15.0 Individual Professional, feel free to contact me off-list at foreigntype at gmail dot com. I use it (mine still works) and I have trained DS students to use it, and have presented on this software in AT conferences and trained other service providers in the (recent) past in workshops on how to use it. I may be able to help with some set up & how to use it. EquatIO is coming along and improvements are always being added to its usefulness. It is not (yet) as robust as MT nor does it handle as many levels of math. It does a good job with lower level maths and algebra. There are no other speech to text options in math yet. My $0.03 for today. I am glad to help if you need more information. Our Colorado AT group recently had an extensive presentation on Panorama and I was quite impressed. I was even more impressed by flexibility it offered and the manner in which our feedback was valued. The Panorama product is new and does more than Ally does - it offers student side support for access to alternate formats of course materials as well as the ability to customize the priority of accessibility issues and overall evaluation tools. I am not working with either tool currently but from what I have seen, I would be requesting demo sessions if I was in the market for such a tool. From the short interaction with the product team, I believe it will continue to develop and improve its already very useful features. At next week?s Accessing Higher Ground Conference, a session on Wednesday at 2:15 (MT), Welcome to EMMA: Educational Materials Made Accessible?and Shareable! is addressing this issue with a realistic and functional solution. This session will be presented by Bill Kasdorf and John Unsworth. When they log into a practice?s medical records file system, the dictation goes one way: into the client?s record. I would have them create a back up of their voice profile on a flash drive and use DNS Medical with external links disabled. I?ll check for a setting for you and let you know. Our Colorado AT group recently had an extensive presentation on Panorama and I was quite impressed. I was even more impressed by flexibility it offered and the manner in which our feedback was valued. The Panorama product is new and does more than Ally does ? it offers student side support for access to alternate formats of course materials as well as the ability to customize the priority of accessibility issues and overall evaluation tools. I am not working with either tool currently but from what I have seen, I would be requesting demo sessions if I was in the market for such a tool. From the short interaction with the product team, I believe it will continue to develop and improve its already very useful features.
