Hi Karen,

To confirm what Justin and Herman said, here are the keystrokes for reading by sentence for JAWS 2022 and 2023:

JAWS key + n, h and y moves to and reads the next, current and previous sentence respectively.
Alt+NumPad +, 5, and - (minus) moves to and reads the next, current and previous sentence respectively.

In JAWS 2021 the keystrokes as are you suggested, Alt + up arrow to read the previous sentence, Alt + down arrow to read the next sentence, and Alt + NumPad 5 to read the current sentence.

Cheers,

Russell

Subject: [Athen] JAWS keyboard command for reading sentences change?

EXTERNAL: Use caution.<https://myportal.macewan.ca/help.html#external-email>

Morning!

With JAWS 2022 and JAWS 2023, the keyboard commands for moving to and reading prior and next sentence as well as the command for re-reading a sentence seem to be broken...or have they changed?

I've looked online and the documentation indicates that they should work:

Alt + Up or Down Arrow or Alt + Numpad 5

But they don't work in Word, PowerPoint, or PDF content anymore.

I do have the latest version of JAWS 2023.

Ideas?

I did notice this was broken in JAWS 2022 but kept hoping and update would fix it. I used them all the time so it is frustrating that I can't read through anything sentence by sentence anymore.

Cheers, Karen
