We began using Capti Voice this semester after many years with R&W and I’ve been very impressed.

* No need for students to install stand-alone desktop software
* Comes with two high quality voices
* Great integration with Bookshare and OneDrive and can also share files directly into a student’s library.
* Chrome/Edge browser extension is working well
* Good mobile apps available, unlike R&W
* Can create a secure environment for exams
* Easy to add users
* Cost savings over competitors
* Support has been responsive

We are still using Read and Write, but we downgraded from the site license since no one else but disability services students was using it. This version does allow you to manage licenses on your end.

Hi,
We are reevaluating our Text to Speech solution (highlighting, speech, etc.) that we support on our campus for those using e-text reading (not screen reading we have JAWS for that). We are considering our current solution, Read & Write, but also looking into Kurzweil 3000 and Natural Reader. We are looking towards free software we can give out or software licensing where we can manage the licenses on our end such as Kurzweil 3000. Any feedback would be appreciated in helping us make a decision on what solution has worked best for your campus.
Thank you,
Kevin
