Hello Susan!

You create workflows for alt media conversions and share the details, so I believe you are looking for ways to do this in house. Have you visited DancingDots? https://www.dancingdots.com/main/productsandservices.htm

DancingDots provides software and training for musical note conversions.

SharpEye to scan & OCR musical notes and make small edits.
Lime Music Editor for cleaning up and editing the musical notes scanned by SharpEye. (ties into GOODFEEL)
GOODFEEL for braille conversion and digtal playback.

Here’s some video/audio of the technology being used: https://www.dancingdots.com/main/presentations.htm

It’s been too long since I’ve last used the software but I recall it being intuitive and easy to use.

Best,

I'm hoping there is someone out there who would be able to talk to me about music braille and how to embed it in an otherwise text-only formatted Braille document.

For example, a book chapter that is text (as most textbooks are) but examples of music sprinkled throughout. I do not want to make separate documents, but I'm definitely not knowledgeable enough to know if this can be done (I mostly work with math/STEM, which is absolutely all within one document with text).

Any insight appreciated. Reach out to me offlist at susan.kelmer at colorado.edu<mailto:susan.kelmer at colorado.edu<mailto:susan.kelmer at colorado.edu%3cmailto:susan.kelmer at colorado.edu>>.

Also, I kind of need insight in a hurry, I only have a week or so to get this file done for the student. I have a Braille transcriptionist and an Music-ML transcriptionist on staff, but they don't do text/have not done text/embed.

Thanks!
