Though I recommend Learning Ally less frequently to students because their textbooks are mostly out of date, we still set up accounts for students who need it. And I use it myself for professional development.
When I got a new Victor Stream 3 I easily authorized it for NLS BARD but Learning Ally's automated authorization process failed stating my serial number was invalid.
I contacted both Learning Ally and Humanware and was told that the Stream 3, due to a problem on the Learning Ally side was not able to be authorized to play their books.
This is less of a problem in the higher ed space where students prefer to use their phones or tablets to access the service. But in the K12 space and some community colleges, players are purchased for students to listen to audio books. Because one can no longer purchase the second generation Stream from Humanware, which can be authorized for Learning ally, it's important to know that the new Stream 3 won't work with this service.
