Hello George,
Thank you for the info on how to get to EPUB to Word utility. Can't wait to try it out!
I have been experimenting with WordtoEPUB especially for Math documents in conjunction with Mathpix. Math doesn't seem to work well on all read aloud EPUB readers though. Thorium with Mathjax enabled and Books app for iOS works really well with these EPUBs and accessible.
Best,
Ramya

Subject: [Athen] EPUB to Word utility
Dear All,
Sorry for cross posting.
I thought folks here would be interested in this functionality.
The WordToEPUB add-in for Word, which is freely available from the DAISY Consortium, also has a EPUB to Word function.
After installing WordToEPUB: https://daisy.org/activities/software/wordtoepub/
When on Windows File explorer, and being on a EPUB file, the context menu will show EPUB to word. This will launch the utility. I tested with simple documents and with more complex publications. I also tested with EPUB that has MathML. It worked great.
I did have a fail with a title that had videos.
Also, WordToEPUB has the Word to HTML functionality.
Of course, the WordTOEPUB produces great, clean EPUB.
I thought there were a variety of functions for this. It might be easier to fix alt text or add long descriptions to a Word docx and then remake the EPUB. Also, having it in Word could allow for other functions.
I tested with EPUB from Bookshare.
Best
George
