[Athen] Accessible video editors?

Hello Ione

Like Lucy, I suggest starting with Clipchamp for now. As a screen reader user myself, it appeared accessible on the surface but when I dove in and started to really use it, I found it to not work for me, but the keyboard shortcuts are all there so a user with low vision may have more success. My understanding is that Reaper, an audio-first multi-track editor which is accessible, can edit video as well, but there is a much steeper learning curve.

I hope this helps.

Alex

hi i think that it can be done but to many of the video editors miss the keyboard shortcuts and are reely to hard to use. i would recommend that they try clip champ but may need a reader assistant to help with this one. i personally have used finalcut por but i hait hait hait it and i find screen flow to be excellent for accessibility but this are both mac tools lucy

Hi folks,

I have a low vision student needing to complete a video project for a class and has asked for assistance finding an accessible option. I believe they are using ZoomText, but I'm waiting for them to confirm that. I've also engaged the professor to find out more details about the assignment in question.

In the meantime, I was curious if anyone has go-to video editing software they recommend to students that would be accessible.

Thanks,
