The student disability center at UC Davis is hiring an assistant manager for our accommodated exam services unit. The job details are listed below, and the application date is January 14.
Job Summary
Under the general direction of SDC/AES Office Manager, assists in scheduling and managing the Accommodated Exam Services arm of the SDC to meet University compliance obligations and with a focus on the coordination and delivery of approximately 26,000 accommodated exams annually. This unit regularly operates Monday-Friday 8:00am-8:00pm, and extended hours during peak periods. Oversee professional staff and student workers at the AES Exam Pickup Desk to ensure effective operation of the unit’s post-exam duties. Manages sensitive disability and accommodation information, ensures exam security, communicates diplomatically with diverse groups such as students, faculty, staff, and administrators. Coordinate and schedule testing appointments verifying that accommodation requirements are met. Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all areas. Assist in identifying, hiring, training, and supervision of professional and student administrative support staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Education, Special Education, or Social Work and/or equivalent experience coordinating the administration of exam accommodations for students with disabilities including the scheduling, proctoring, and return of course exams.
• Experience interacting with individuals of varying ages, roles, and cultural backgrounds in person, through email, telephone, video conferencing, VOIP, or IM.
• Thorough understanding of accommodations process, SDC policies, procedures, and services for students. Demonstrated knowledge of database(s) specific to Student Disability Center functions, and other specialized technology.
• Accurate command using and providing tech support/troubleshooting for computers, tablets, & mobile devices, in the context of multiple operating systems, software programs, apps, and cloud storage services (e.g., Windows, Mac, Google, etc.), for students who must use their own personal equipment.
• Supervisory and organizational skills to manage staff and/or perform assignments with attention to detail despite frequent interruptions; to successfully manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines in a complex work environment, and create a welcoming environment for diverse student populations with disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in a related field such as Special Education or Higher Education Administration and/or 3+ years’ equivalent experience overseeing the administration of exam accommodations including the scheduling, proctoring, and return of course exams for students with disabilities.
• Experience with assistive technology tools and software used for testing accommodations such as Livescribe Smartpens, assistive listening devices, ABBYY, ClaroRead, Dragon Naturally Speaking, JAWS, SensusAccess, Google Docs, Box.com, Canvas, etc.
• Organizational experience to plan, coordinate, manage, and monitor a large student program and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with diverse staff and student populations with disabilities.
• Thorough understanding of university policies and procedures and applicable federal mandates for electronic accessibility.

Accommodated Exam Services under the umbrella of the Student Disability Center (SDC) within the Division of Student Affairs supports the University's academic mission, responds to students' needs for academic support services and ensures proctoring services are provided to students within the context of university policy and best practices. AES receives exams, administers them with appropriate disability accommodations, and returns them to instructors ensuring exam integrity and equitable access for students with disabilities.

Work Environment
• UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
