style='font-size:12.0pt'>The general purpose of<b><i><span style='font-weight:
bold;font-style:italic'> </span></i></b>the ATHEN blog is to share bits and
pieces and viewpoints and such on the wide world of access technology and those
who build it, support it, and use it. Well, today I am stretching it a bit for
a good cause.<br>
<br>
My friend (and former employee + student) Van Credle is running the <a
href="http://bostonmarathon.org/">Boston Marathon</a> this year as a member of
the <a
href="http://www.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR?px=3136888&pg=personal&fr_id=4211">Marathon
Strides Against Multiple Sclerosis</a> team. She has <a
href="http://movingvan.blogspot.com/">started a blog</a> to detail her encounters
with training, pasta, the occasional errant driver and heartbreak hill!<br>
<br>
Many who read this blog either know (or know of) Van as the marketing voice of <a
href="http://www.yourdolphin.com/index.asp">Dolphin Computer Access</a> in the
USA or back when she worked for the <a href="http://www.bu.edu/disability/">Boston
University Office of Disability Services</a> as an E-Text production
specialist.<br>
<br>
So check out what one of us techies is up to outside of the work-a-day world.
And while you are at it, go ahead and <a
href="http://www.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR?px=3136888&pg=personal&fr_id=4211">donate
a few dollars (or pounds)</a> to a worthy cause on behalf of someone who never
stops running for us (or is that from us?) <br>
