There is no such provision as a grandfather clause in the current <st1:City

accommodations operating in older buildings (built prior to the <st1:City
w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">ADA</st1:place></st1:City>) that have not been
modified or altered have a requirement to remove architectural barriers to
people with disabilities. Post <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">ADA</st1:place></st1:City>
alterations/ modifications must conform with the ADA Accessibility Guidelines
(ADAAG). <br>

The section of ADAAG that applies to hotels states that hotels and inns with 50
or more sleeping rooms or suites are to provide accessible rooms with roll- in
shower conforming to the requirements at <a

This is the standard to strive for in new construction however in older
buildings it is the ideal level to attain.<br>

There is a very good resource for assisting with both Federal and state <st1:City
w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">ADA</st1:place></st1:City> compliance (for those
