For those of you acquiring and producing alternate media…have you had students submit international copies of books for e-text conversion? </p><p class="MsoNormal"> </p><p class="MsoNormal">1. Do you accept international copies from students? Technically speaking, is it a different book? Is the content different? The instructor is requiring/recommending a specific book for a course…are the international copies of books different?</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p><p class="MsoNormal">2. Have you been successful in getting e-text files from publishers for these books? The only times I have ever been denied e-text files is with international copies of books. Denied – not ignored. I’ve been ignored plenty of times from publishers. Because I can’t get the files from the publishers, it’s pretty much guaranteed that I will have to cut up and scan, thereby increasing my production time.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p><p class="MsoNormal">Wondering what others are doing with regards to international copies of books that are submitted for e-text/alternate format conversion. Any thoughts or ideas you have on this subject would be very helpful!</p>
