<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">Hi all ATHEN-ites,</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">I have used the method Joseph mentioned for captioning on YouTube, and wanted to note for you all that if you're creating your own video (i.e., filming yourself for an intro to a class, for example) you can "write" the script ahead of time. I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking to dictate the script, so when I film myself "reading" the script, it feels natural to me and the viewer doesn't get a disconnect between what my mouth is forming and what I'm actually reading aloud from the script. Since I've already spoken it once, it comes out more naturally anyway when filmed. The MSW doc that's created from the script can then be easily uploaded or copied/pasted into the dialog box in YouTube. It is easy enough to make any corrections to the text before uploading.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">I found the whole process easy to handle.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">I have also found that the way to find how to captions on YouTube is now quite complicated and hidden from view, making it frustrating and not as intuitive as it's been in previous versions.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">HTH!</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">Wink Harner</div><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div><div><div>Wink Harner<br></div>Accessibility Consultant/Alternative Text Production<br></div>The Foreign Type<br><br></div></div>Portland OR<br><a href="mailto:foreigntype@gmail.com" target="_blank">foreigntype@gmail.com</a><br>480-984-0034<br><br></div><div>This email was dictated using Dragon NaturallySpeaking.
