[Biology Advising]

Academic Services:

Due to the continuing COVID-19 Pandemic, Academic Services is available remotely via email, phone and Zoom until July 5, 2022

Applying for graduation:

-Students need to submit a graduation application with a Biology adviser by the 3rd Friday of their final quarter. 

-Advisers can submit a graduation application up to 3 quarters in advance* of the estimated graduation date. We recommend submitting a graduation application early in order to receive Graduating Senior Priority <https://registrar.washington.edu/registration/periods/> (GSP) registration for 2 quarters. See the deadlines listed below or in the Academic Calendar <https://www.washington.edu/students/reg/2223cal.html#Q4> for GSP. 

-Email an adviser or visit Zoom drop-ins <http://www.biology.washington.edu/programs/undergraduate> to inquire about graduation applications. Be sure to include your student number and anticipated graduation date in the email.

*If you plan to graduate in spring 2023, contact an adviser after summer quarter to submit a graduation application. The deadline is November 4 for GSP registration for winter/spring 2023. 

 

Important Dates:
Spring 2022

·       May 19: Registration period 2 for summer quarter 

 

·       May 20: Mary Gates Research Symposium 

 

·       May 30: Memorial Day - HOLIDAY 

 

·       May 31-June 4: Cap & Gown pick-up @ University Bookstore

 

·       June 6: Biology Department Graduation RSVP DUE 

 

·       June 10: Last day to change S/NS grading option

 

·       June 10: Biology Department Graduation Celebration. Check-in 11 a.m.; program starts @ 12 p.m.

 

·       June 11: UW Commencement; doors open at 12:30 p.m.; procession @ 1:30

 

·       June 14: Grades due from faculty

 

·       June 15: Grades post to transcript

 

·       June 21: Summer quarter A- & full-term instruction begins

 

·       June 21: Registration period 2 for autumn quarter starts
