Artificial Intelligence can be used to automate medical imaging tasks, but often struggles to learn from ambiguous contexts. This poses challenges for trustworthiness in uncertain problems. The motivation for this study is to develop a novel method of directly representing uncertainty in the annotations for medical images.

Subjects will be asked to annotate either medical or general images using this novel annotation method. All relevant contextual information will be provided. Sessions are one hour, located on campus, and will be scheduled between Oct. 24 and Nov. 4. Participants will be compensated with a $17 gift card. We are looking both for students studying the biological sciences and those from a more general background.

To learn more about the study and to sign up, please visit this link: https://bit.ly/uncertainty_uw [bit.ly] <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://bit.ly/uncertainty_uw__;!!K-Hz7m0Vt54!l2sHnOqAkkTAgLl7WwqLB9gdUqDdSw75sK9vywt8mmnF3n5npqpbyyoOlj6vpcczb2dI8E6HES6dDWhc3f1K5KFS2NDwphJtHcI5xC4ZIoo$>. Pass this on to anyone who might be interested!

If you have questions, please send them to andreye at uw.edu <mailto:andreye at uw.edu>. Please sign up as soon as possible, preferably before Oct. 23rd.
